Our work in Djibouti to build a new primary school has been our flagship project since the inception of Frontline Children in 2018. Frontline Children have fully funded the design, development, project management and delivery of the new school build in the As Eyla region of Djibouti. On 14th May 2021, we were proud to cut the ribbon and officially open the school which has been named ‘Guarderie Sultan Houmed Louta’ after the local tribe in the region who played an instrumental part in supporting the project throughout its 3-year development. The school has now been officially handed over to the Djibouti Government’s Ministry of Education who are providing for, and fully funding the running of it including 4 full time teachers, a headmaster and an administrative team. Frontline Children will continue to support the school at As Eyla and will provide regular educational visits for young people and volunteers from the UK.
